Job Description

Volant Media is assembling an in-house Creative Team for its ground-breaking News Channel. Like us, you’ll have a passion to tell fascinating stories in the most engaging ways possible.

Reporting to the Creative Head of Promotions, you will provide the operational foundation for the creative arm of Volant Media’s independent Farsi language News Channel.

This is a demanding role juggling multiple and diverse responsibilities and will require an effective communicator who is able to exercise good judgement.

Responsibilities

  • Devise and establish efficient workflows including but not limited to, sharing large volumes of media, booking resource, allocating work and making sure delivery deadlines are met
  • In tandem with the Creative Head of Promotion (CHoP), become the central point of contact for partners within the news team
  • Establish and enforce the agreed commissioning process, ensuring all promotional requests are tracked and prioritised in collaboration with the CHoP
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating mutual understanding between Creative Promotions and News Partners
  • Track and maintain weekly production reports and milestones, keeping stakeholders and the CHoP informed of status
  • Allocate work to the Creative Producer team, taking into account overall workload, individual strengths and passion areas
  • Facilitate and engage with the formulation of briefs for high priority projects
  • Identify and source appropriate specialist resource where necessary including graphic designers, voice-overs, DOPs and freelance Creative Producers
  • Monitor spend against budget and seek cost-effective solutions
  • Assist in the production management of live action shoots
  • Resolve production issues quickly and efficiently and escalate where necessary
  • Keep up to date with technological advances and identify ways that new technology can be utilised to improve workflows
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment at all times, flagging any issues or areas of concern
  • Line Manage Production Assistant
  • Work with Managers to implement the company’s policies and goals

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

  • As a candidate for this role, you would need to have the following:
  • Incredibly organised, efficient and logical
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment, supervising several projects in various points of production (from pre-production to post production and then delivery)
  • Act pragmatically and problem-solve quickly under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise effectively by seeing the big picture view and manage conflicting demands where necessary
  • Work Smarter approach by establishing workflows that take care of themselves and constantly strive to improve them
  • Experienced in working in a broadcast environment
  • Interest in news and current affairs
  • Excellent communication skills with the emotional intelligence to handle situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Skilled at influencing and motivating others to achieve results
  • Attention to detail, maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality within a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive and able to consider and propose new ways of working to improve existing processes
  • Good knowledge of end to end multiplatform production with a level of technical awareness
  • Confident in using own judgement and escalating where necessary
  • Working proficiency in Office 365 workflow
  • A strong understanding of graphic design and post-production techniques
  • Ability to respond after hours for important, timely or urgent matters
